I've witnessed Dubai grow from a desert with one skyscraper, Burj Rashid ( @wtc ), on Sheikh Zayed Road to a futuristic metropolis that has set the scale for the region and the world. I've seen this country grow from a small player to a major contributor to the worlds. Though I might be considered an expatriate, I consider myself as much a part of the UAE as a camel is to the desert. The UAE is my home. Happy 47th National Day.

Started from the bottom now we here - Drake It's been a year since I started my MBA at @uoebusiness and have learned so much that I believe I'm a different person now. It was absolutely heart breaking when I left Edinburgh and couldn't attend my own graduation due to visa issues (so here's the iconic picture of me from my Undergrad graduation in 2012 from @middlesexuniversity ). Edinburgh will always have a special place in my heart, and so will my Edinburgh family who always supported me through everything I went through. I love you guys and we will have an iconic picture like this (not sure how I'll carry you lot all together ). #Graduation #UEBSLife #UEBS #Edinburghgrad #Edinburgh
2018 is my year, after moving to Edinburgh I caught the running bug. So far I have finished four races (including #EMF2018 , #British10K and #RoughRunners ). Today I completed the @Mens10k in association with @cr_uk in Edinburgh in 57.50 minutes, a personal best! Its all about motivation and keeping yourself going. In 2017 my doctor diagnosed me with a torn meniscus in my right knee, nothing too life threatening but extremly painful and potentially harmful in the long term. Instead of sitting this out, I worked towards improving my strength and endurance and trained to make myself stronger and fitter. P.S. My official timings: #Mens10k : 0.57.50 #British10k : 0.58.44 #emf2018 : 0.59.34 @fransmanpl you were missed #teamfatayar #positiveMENtality

This was probably my proudest moments, 2018 is my year, after moving to Edinburgh I caught the running bug. So far I've finished three races (including @edinburghmarathonfestival #EMF2018 and @virginsport #British10K ). @Rough .runner was probably the toughest ones I've ever completed, 10k with 15 obstacles, that lasted 2 hours of running through a farms and forests in the Scottish rain. In 2017 my doctor diagnosed me with a torn meniscus in my right knee, nothing to life threatening but extremly painful and potentially harmful in the long term. I was advised to avoid a lot of activities so it doesn't get worse, and I did that, but that just made me unfit and loose a lot of muscle. But I worked towards improving my strength and endurance and trained to get myself to the same/and even better fitness level than I was at before, the all is to only get fitter. I want to personally thank @crew_2000 for sponsoring and encouraging me to do this run, please follow their page, one of the truest and honest charities I have worked with in years! *swipe right*
"Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today" - Malcolm X And with that, ladies and gentlemen, I am done with my MBA @uoebusiness . It's been a crazy 12 months with lots of hyperventilating, low blood pressure, arguments, missing my cat and meeting and making some amazig friends and sharing lots of laughs with them. It's been an emotional rollercoaster. But today it comes to an end. Thank you everyone for your love and support, I will definitely miss my dissertation supervisor! (No seriously! She was awesome ). Yeah, I shaved for this picture. #uebslife #uebs #uebsmba #mba #university #SayMashaallahBro
On their way, they could see the British army posted on the route to Pakistan. They had their weapons ready for any disturbances, but they were there to protect themselves. What happened next proved it. There was a sudden attack on the Muslims who were walking towards Pakistan. It was a hate crime for splitting up Punjab. No one wanted this, the Indian and now Pakistani politicians had reluctantly agreed to the plans to split the country based on old demographics and borders drawn by self interested British politicians. Some men had attacked the family to loot them of their possessions and women. All Sarder could recall before the end of her days was her regret. Her own brother had been shot dead in front of her eyes, we call the dead 'shaheed', martyrs in Islam. Qadir’s sisters were kidnapped, no one could find them. Stories of Muslim women being abducted, raped and shamed were rampant. No one talked about this again, because nothing could be done. My own father, though he did not meet his aunts, did not know what happened with them. This was my grandmother's story, a story that has been echoed for the past 71 years in Pakistan, and in India, both brothers suffered at the hands of British interests and selfish politicians. A tale of freedom, yet the loss of losing one's home. Never forget the sacrifices that were made for your freedom by these people. You would not have had an identity if it was not for them. (2 of 2 )
It was 70 years ago that everything had changed, Sardar Bibi tried her best not to think of the day. After Fajr prayers, her husband, Qadir Bakhsh, told her that she must pack a trunk with the most necessary items, the rest of the details were fuzzy as the instructions to pack made her fill with anger, resentment, hope and sadness. She has spent every day of her married life in this house, in the city of Firozpur. She could not understand what the men were planning and how they were going to do this. But one thing was certain, they had to leave. Rumours of murders and rape were looming closer to her city, and she had to do what was best for her family, especially her children. Riaz was 7, he is a strong child, he would stand fight at the slightest sight of danger, but Rani was old and nearly a woman, Meena was a baby who had just started to crawl, she had to do it for them. When it was time, she met Qadir near the place they had agreed on, the rest of her and his family were with him, they had all come from different areas to travel together. Her brothers looked like they had got into a fight but they were all there, everyone was okay. ‘Alhamdulillah,’ she thought. They had to get a move on. A group of vigilantes could be heard from a distance, breaking down doors and looting anything they wanted. The cries of the women were the worse Sardar thought to herself, they were like animals. She shrugged off the thought, grabbed Meena in one arm, held Rani's hand with the other, and Riaz was walking behind his father. It was their first steps towards freedom, towards whag was now Pakistan. The plan was simple, the group were to walk for five hours to Pakistan, and then from there head to Lahore to Sardar's youngest brother, he had already agreed and would be waiting. Walking for hours during the August heat, during the holy month of Ramadan and minding her children was harder than she had thought, she had to be strong, all of them had to get to Lahore. Meena kept pulling her hair to let her know she was hungry, but Sardar could not stop to feed her, it was dangerous, too dangerous, and very quiet. Everyone around her noticed this, something was not right. (1 of 2 )

"You are not meant for crawling, so don't. You have wings, so learn how to fly" - Rumi After spending weeks training, getting lazy, going back to training and sticking to it and over eating, I finally got on the the train to #London from #Edinburgh to #run for the @virginsport #British10K , representing @cr_uk . My partner in crime @fransmanpl ( #TeamFatayer ) wasn't there to annoy or take staged pictures of me, but it was a good run, with live bands playing, and amazing charities being represented. Here's to always running (Insha'Allah ) and to my next adventure! P.S. My official timings: #British10k : 0.58.44 #emf2018 : 0.59.34
With my main Iceland crew, went to see some whales. Ended up taking loads of selfies and feeling sick (with my main man @synchie ). Oh yeah, there was a selflpathing piece of shit floating somewhere the size of a ship I didn't like much (aka Charlie ) .
Who knew you could spend the day at the beach in #Edinburgh
