OK, you two. I've had just about enough of this adorable bullshit. This ALMOST makes up for how often you wake me up by attacking my feet. 🐱🐈
Cool gift just arrived from an old pal in Ireland! New Phil Lynott / Thin Lizzy stamps to commemorate the band's 50th anniversary. Art by @jimfitzpatrick
Thanks for the toxicity @nustarenergy !!!
Melissa was at home in Pinole and a huge explosion rocked our block. Turns out Tosco (or NuStar? ) Refinery in Crockett and the surrounding hills are on fire! Be safe, CoCo County folks! Stay indoors - that looks toxic as hell. :( thanks @nustarenergy !!!
Long gone are the days of fussin' over haircuts. Now he asks for 'em. Times are flyin'... 💚
Damn. 💔 RIP to the true Mayor of Berkeley, former Gilman head coordinator Michael Diehl. Grateful for the conversations and meals we shared at Long Haul and People's Park and for his participation in the East Bay Punk documentary. What a truly unique and community minded person. Wave your freak flag in honor of Michael! Photo: Ted Friedman
RIP to this true legend. 💔 No one can replace what you brought to rock n' roll. Thank you, Kim.
October 1st means... Pumpkin Time!
You're growing up too danged fast there, Rex Redford. Slow your roll with them temporary snake tattoos and oddball expressions. 🐍 Photo by @honeybeeorange 🧡
About to watch a stage reading of an automotive-themed play by Pinole playwright / screenwriter Miranda Jonte. A few blocks from my house at the awesome place I get my oil changed. 🖤
Happy Birthday, Dan. You're a great dude, a great friend and far better with children than this photograph would imply. Hope you have a great one!

The brilliant @nickiishmaelphotography just shared this archival gem. @tacososcar and I in Santa Cruz for a S.P.A.M. Records record release show 17 years ago in 2002. Holy shit, time flies. So wonderful to see all of the amazing things Oscar has done with music and food over the last two decades. Visit Tacos Oscar on 40th Street in Oakland when you're in the neighborhood!

Melissa and I took Rex to see the new Lion King today. We all thought it was great. I'll post some thoughts on it soon, but thought to share this now: When we got out of the movie theater, after adoring his performance as Timon, I felt compelled to praise the amazing @billyeichner on Instagram (see above )... and it made me smile like gangbusters when its seems he felt compelled to acknowledge my praise. I'm such a fan of everything he does and its so rad to see him shine in such a huge breakout role. Hell yes!

Said in cute kitten voice: "In emergency room cos my spay stitch opened and my abdominal wall has prolapsed out of my belly. Vet says I'll be ok even tho it looks horrible. PS: Can the Redford family get a break after the last 3 weeks full of animal emergencies / tragedies?"
Welcome to the family, Matilda. Your lil' brother Cosmo is a bit ruffled that you like his feather toy so much, but we'll make it work. 😻

Repost from @anthonymarchitiello - If you can see past the overall crusty nature of this ball of metal, you’ll find a repurposed ice cream truck that shoots Hawaiian Style Shave Ice out of its windows. Lola, I've never known a dog like you. Protective, loving, funny and gentle... our home feels empty without you here tonight. You "doing your nails", your "dancey-dances", your nightly excitement for dinner, your patience with Rex... I just don't know how to process that you're gone. Your valiant and guarding presence next to us is still felt in spite of your departure. You closed your beautiful eyes today and our family's hearts are broken. Rest well, dear sweet Lola. 💙
Just found a photo I took in 2015 that I might have shared once before from the @eastbaypunk documentary production. Our small crew had arrived at Iggy's home to record his narration for our film the morning after his birthday party. When he groggily entered his living room, he kindly greeted us and then promptly went to take a shower while we set up sound & video equipment. I have a lot of memorable stories from that day, but a moment that stands out to me was this photo. Right before we settled in to 10 hours of recording, Iggy brought out some of his favorite books from San Francisco publishers to share with us. He kindly asked if I wanted to take pictures of him with the books. This was the first one I took.

Tonight, when I heard it was ending, I started to cry. My Dad's old girlfriend Robbie used to sneak her MAD Magazines to me at the house we briefly lived in together in Viewpointe in Rodeo, CA in the mid-80s. My Dad used to call MAD "disgusting trash" and puritanically demanded Robbie get rid of all her copies. Thankfully, she didn't listen to him. I remember going to a friend's house and seeing that his parents let him read it freely. I was so shocked and stoked at the same time. I soaked up issue after issue when I visited his home. I knew, at it's core, MAD was about sharing ideas and exposing truth through comedy and illustration. I'm pretty sure MAD was my 1st exposure to true satire. Aragones, Martin, Jaffee, Davis, Drucker, Berg, and rest of the Usual Gang of Idiots brought so many new thoughts and images into my young brain. MAD hit me like Marvel Comics did. Like Rock N' Roll did. Like Broadway did. It changed me. It changed how I saw the world. "If you can't laugh at yourself, we'll do it for you", "Just because we're funny, doesn't mean we're joking" and "We're serious about our silliness" all became the mottos and creeds of the various bands, troupes and projects I was eventually involved with over the next many decades. I can trace it all back to hiding out in the bathroom with a forbidden copy of MAD. One thought keeps crossing my mind: "Who the fuck wants to live in a world where MAD isn't there to take the piss out of everything that deserves it?" Thank you, Robbie. Thanks for everything, Alfred. 💔
Lil' Homie is here to party. 💥
Sometimes, if we are lucky, our friends can also be considered our family. Out here with my sister from another mister Stephanie seeing the Avengers: Endgame re-release!
We built a Forky!🥄
A visit with Grandpa today in Smartsville, CA meant Rex's first ride on a three-wheeler. He dug it! ⭐
Happy Birthday to the prettiest, sweetest, smartest and strongest person I know. Rex and I love you so much and we hope you have a great birthday weekend! 🎂
Ok, sue me. Posting because I'm proud of this drawing Rex made of Forky this morning. He usually chooses to scribble, but this is one of the first attempts I've seen him make to draw. Encouraging him to practice if he decides he digs the activity. 💥
