HAPPY MERRY BIRTHDAY CHRISTMAS! I had a lovely birthday (Thank you so much to all who wished me a happy birthday! ) which was peaceful and relaxing. Christmas was also fairly quiet this year. 2019 has been another year of NEW. New home (to us ), new cat, new car, new fish, new fertility treatments, new job, new callings, new responsibilities, new doctors, new medications, new adventures. A lot of adjustments this year. But mostly good ones. Here’s hoping 2020 brings all of us new things full of joy.
New A/C unit installed. (This is the most common Aircon set up in Australia ) one room will at least stay cool this summer! Our Princess Leia 🐈 has done a quality check on the unit and approves.
Christmas has started in the Parry household. The door is open to let in the hope of a breeze. Because it is heckin hot here in Perth, Australia. #merrysweatmas
This is Albus. The newest member of our family. We love him to pieces. Except Leia. She’s not very impressed by his presence. But we’re hoping eventually she’ll love her energetic “little” brother. He turns 3 this November. He LOVES food but still maintains a sleek figure. (The jerk... ) Welcome to the family Albus! 😘 #familiesarefurrever
Trip to Albany WA, Australia part 1. Our first trip as a married couple. Had a great time relaxing together. First day we went whale watching! Didn’t get any good pictures but we saw so many whale breaches. Nature is amazing.
Spring flowers in Australia.
Throwback to Friday when we had our engagement party. Only picture we remembered to take. Love was in the air.
Last week at the temple on a beautiful cloudy day.
First day in Perth, Australia!
This is pretty much the view I grew up seeing. I lived on the mountain side there and watched Utah Valley awake each morning and then settle in for sleep each night. Such a beautiful sight.
Had rehearsal with the @sandiegosymphony last night. The San Diego Master Chorale is joining them for the second half of their Star Spangled Pops concerts this weekend. So grateful I get to have this experience and celebrate my country with some great musicians. #patriotism #sandiegomasterchorale #4thofjuly
Breakfast today. Mmm mmm mmm. Daves Killer Bread, cream cheese and sliced, fresh, peaches. Delicious. Nectarines are good this way too.
I am so grateful for my mother. She has taught me so much in my life. As I became and adult I realized she isn't perfect, but she's been the perfect mother for me. She is one of my best friends and weathers the storms in her life with patience and faith in the Lord. I wouldn't trade her for any other mother. I'm so glad I can be her daughter for eternity. Love you always mom. ❤️ (these are pictures of the last time I was with her, in October 2016 )
I wore my brightest colors on this overcast day. Life is good. Problems are still present in my life, but I have an overarching sense of peace and calm and assurance that things will turn out alright. I'm grateful for the good things in my life and the challenges that teach me to appreciate the good things. #glassfull #glassnothalffullorhalfempty #lds #sandiegotemple
"A National salute to Bob Hope and the Military" at the San Diego Harbor last night. Good on ya, Bob, for entertaining the troops so much (and for changing your name from Leslie to Bob. Fits you better ). Had fun walking around here the other night.
Easter Sunday. I am standing next to a painting of my grandmother (we called her Nanny ) on her wedding day. I think she was a doll. I'm wearing her engagement ring (though you can't see it here ) and wearing her mother's (great Nanna ) earrings. And my aunt (Nanny's daughter ) took this picture. Easter was fabulous. I'm especially grateful for the knowledge that I can be with these women (and all my family ) for eternity because of the Atonement and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. #lds #jesuslovesus #familiesareforever #turningtheheartsofthechildren (please excuse my hair. It had been doing its duty for 9 hours at this point. It couldn't do it anymore. )
At the grocery store last night. This guy was in front of me. At first there was nothing on the belt. Then as the person in front of him finished he pulled these peppers out of his pocket. I thought, "how funny, what a quirky guy!" Then he told the cashier that he only remembered they were in his pocket when he reached for his keys while loading his other groceries in his car. He came all the way back in to pay for two peppers. That is quality. #bequality #honesty #dontjudgeabookbyitscover #faithinhumanity
Also, check out the progress on these little beauties! I'm so proud. #plantmom
A particularly nice day at the beach. Not too hot, not too windy, just right. #imstartingtogetatan
Growing some flowers at my desk. I'm excited to watch their beauty emerge! #sunnysocal
