Rating: 6/10 It was fine. I liked it. I thought that Homecoming and Spider-Man 2 were better though. A lot of the comedy fell flat for me and I didn’t like the way the villain was handled. I thought that the reveal was good but the exposition scene immediately following the reveal was so forced. I also thought that the mid credit scene should’ve been he ending to the movie instead of a credit scene. Other than that, I enjoyed it
Rating: 2/10 I didn’t enjoy it. I only laughed twice throughout the entire film and I was mostly emotionally disconnected from the characters and their actions. I don’t care to talk anymore about this cash grab
Rating: 3/10 I forgot that I even saw this film. It’s lazy, forgettable, has terrible effects and mediocre performances. The genie was probably the best part about it. Take that how you will. The music was fine but the added song was so forced. The movie feels rushed even though it’s a full half hour longer than the original. In short, don’t watch it
100000000/10 When I first saw this film, I thought that it was an intentionally divisive piece of shit that cared more about subverting audience expectations and appeasing SJWs than telling a well written narrative with compelling characters. But after careful consideration, I’ve come to the conclusion that this is the best Star Wars film and even the best film of 2017. It not only saved a dead franchise rather than killing it, but it also gave me hope for the future of the franchise. Who needs compelling characters with flaws and weaknesses hat they have to overcome when you can make characters who have no flaws or weaknesses and who are naturally good at everything and with no arc they have to complete or quest they have to finish? Who needs good writing when you can subvert the audience’s expectations? Who needs humor that fits with the scene and with the character when you can just throw in some slapstick or a “your mom” joke? Who needs short subplots that tie into the rest of the story when you can have 30 minute subplots that have no ultimate purpose? Who needs consistency when you can subvert audience expectation? Who needs good actors when you can include people of all cultures such as purple-haired SJW archetypes? I’m sorry but I can’t help but talk about how great this film is. If you can’t tell that I’m being sarcastic, then either you’ve never seen this movie or you’re probably one of the people that this film was made for.
5/10 So this is a movie that everyone forgot about including me. I almost skipped it but then I remembered how cool the third act was and how boring everything else was. This is the best of the new Star Wars movies but that’s not saying much
Rating: 2/10 So I just saw the new Godzilla movie and it was pretty bad. Full of cliches, terrible writing, subpar acting, and even the spectacle was ruined because of how much the camera shook during the action. I saw this like 3 hours ago and have already forgotten almost all of it besides the trailer footage.
So the trailer for “The Rise of Skywalker” (what a shitty name by the way ) was released a while ago and after the negative reception of the last two films, it looks desperate to draw in support. But for now, here’s my review of episode 7: Rating: 4/10 Visually, it’s awesome but it builds up too much with so little payoff, it takes too often from the original trilogy for nostalgia sake, and Rey is a Mary Sue with no character, no flaws, and no weaknesses. Most of my problems with this film lie with Episode 8 but I’ll get there soon
Rating: 9/10 Some minor plot holes and a character that I thought was done poorly. Outside of that, it’s great! I don’t wanna say anything else about it because of spoilers
This is the first ever real image of a black hole. It’s from the black hole at the center of the galaxy M87: 53.49 million light years away. The black hole is estimated to be 6.5 billion times the mass of our sun. Thought it was really cool!
Rating: 4/10 This is definitely better than the other prequels. It has some good moments but is ultimately bogged down by what made the others suck. This is the last Star Wars I’ll do for a while. Probably the last until episode 9 comes out (or at least the trailer ). Expect a captain marvel review and my political compass quiz results soon
Rating: 2/10 This movie is really boring and bad. I don’t really care to say much more about it. Bad effects, bad writing, bad acting. Everything is wooden and forced. There’s a kinda cool fight at the end but that’s about it. Don’t watch it
Rating: 4/10 Yeah, this movie kinda sucks. I don’t know what happened but I dislike all but one Star Wars film after Return of the Jedi (but I’ll get to those later ) What I liked: Most of the visuals were top notch. The world building was also incredible. The music was great What I didn’t like: The acting was wooden. The dialogue was stale. The movie spends an ungodly amount of time on politics and is still confusing to people who don’t study Star Wars like I do (and even then some things still confuse me ). Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this one unless you have alcohol while watching it (or at least I’ve heard it’s better with alcohol ).
Rating: 7/10 This is the worst of the Star Wars original trilogy but that doesn’t mean that it’s bad. I enjoy this movie a lot even though it rips off the first Star Wars and has a really unnecessarily long opening that has nothing to do with the rest of the film. I think that if Jabba’s palace had been on Endor and Jabba’s people helped the rebels instead of the Ewoks that it would’ve made for a more coherent movie as a whole. I’m not an Ewok hater by any means. Ewoks are adorable! I just think that replacing the Ewoks with Jabba and his people would’ve made the story come around better in the end. The acting, effects, and music are still amazing and I would still highly recommend this movie as well
Rating: 10/10 My favorite Star Wars film and my personal favorite film ever made. It does a terrific job at blending blockbuster with drama as well as simple with complex themes. It has terrific effects, music, acting, writing, and one of the best twists in film history. I could go on for hours about how great this movie is but I’ll stop for now
I forgot I said I was going to do this. I’ll review them in order of release: Rating: 9/10 This film is the definition of a blockbuster. It’s exciting, iconic, intense. It has great music and amazing practical effects for the time. It’s just an all around great film and my second favorite Star Wars film even if it has some weird acting and dialogue
I decided to wait until now to talk about this because my opinion on movies changes so drastically shortly after seeing them. Rating: 6/10 Incredibles 2 is an entertaining yet heavily flawed film. The movie has great action and many hilarious moments. However, the villain and the third act of the film really bring it down. If you’re looking for a fun film, you’ll enjoy it. If you’re looking for a film as great as the first, you’re gonna be disappointed. At this point I’m gonna be talking about spoilers so if you haven’t seen the movie don’t read further. So it’s revealed that Evelyn is the villain (another twist Disney villain, what a surprise ). Her plan is extremely convoluted: she wants to make superheroes illegal so she goes through this convoluted plan to make people want superheroes to be legal again so that all the ambassadors will get on the boat to sign the law that makes them legal but while they’re on the boat the superheroes turn evil and cause trouble changing the minds of everyone. Do I have that right? On top of that, her motivation makes no sense: her dad died because the superheroes wouldn’t answer the phone, making her hate superheroes. But why? The superheroes would have never gotten there in time even if they did answer the phone. I have many more problems with the villain but this is already pretty long and most people won’t read this all the way through anyway so... I also thought the movie was kinda pandering to the “AW!” demographic by having so many scenes with the cute baby. It’s really noticeable now that I rewatch the film that those scenes were just put there to pander to audiences. Anyways I’m done here. I may review all the Star Wars films next so stay tuned
So because I have nothing better to do with my time, I’m gonna review older films that I want to talk about. I’m taking recommendations if anyone has any. That being said, here is my review of the original The Incredibles (2004 ) in preface to a review of The Incredibles 2 (2018 ) coming soon. Rating: 10/10 I don’t have much to say about this film other than it’s a terrific film for both children and adults and it’s my personal favorite Pixar film, favorite animated film, favorite superhero film, and one of my all time favorite films in general. It masterfully blends adult stories with exciting action scenes while also taking a realistic approach to superheroes. It’s entertaining and complex at the same time
